“Yoga is not a work-out, it is a work-in. And this is the point of spiritual practice; to make us teachable; to open up our hearts and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are” -Rolf Gates
I never would have guessed that I’d be practicing yoga, let alone teaching yoga because it just didn’t fit my “lifestyle” or anyone’s I grew up with...or even knew, but here I am now & that’s what matters. I began practicing yoga for the physical benefits, but also with the hope of finding something that I felt was missing from my life. Little by little I began to change, my thoughts, my feelings....both inward & outward. Taking my 200 hour teacher training only enhanced that & has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Yoga is changing me, for the better, & in turn is changing my relationships with family and friends, also for the better, but at the same time, throughout all the change, yoga is also bringing me back to who I always was & what I’ve always felt but just never took the time to listen and/or trust.
I used to say that I wish I’d found yoga earlier, but I know now that it wasn’t my time then & that’s ok. Yoga is for everyone, regardless of size, color, age, or income. There is no “yogi mold” and true yogis know & appreciate that. I look forward to sharing the love & practice to all. Namaste
