Kimberly is a Karma Kids trained Children's and Teen Yoga Instructor; an "Every Kids Yoga" trained Instructor for children with special needs; and a trained Instructor in yoga for test prep. In addition to her yoga training, she recently became a certified Reiki practitioner. Over the last 10 years, Kimberly has worked at the NYU School of Medicine for a program called ParentCorps. It is a preventative intervention designed to improve the social-emotional, behavioral, health, and academic outcomes of young children in low-income, high-need communities throughout New York City.
Her passion for working with children drove her to pursue yoga teacher training. Freeze dance, "Good Morning Yogi," and the "Yes" Game are some of the games played in Kimberly's classes. Yes, games! Kimberly possesses a deep belief that children learn through play and yoga is no different. Yoga for children is focused on having fun and not on having the perfect posture for a pose. It is a space for children to have fun, be silly, be creative, build self-confidence, and learn how to regulate their bodies and emotions. She also teaches children self-regulation tools through guided meditations and breath work. Overall, Kimberly believes yoga helps children to develop the self-regulation skills that are essential for the lifespan. Kimberly looks forward to having your children in her class!
